The FLASH™ Navigation System utilizes Machine-vision Technology to deliver a registration method in less than 30 seconds. Similar to technology found in self-driving cars, the FLASH Navigation System uses special cameras to quickly analyze surface anatomy using only visible light. This creates a full-color, 3D image reconstruction consisting of nearly 1,000,000 data points used for surgical navigation. This proprietary Machine-vision Technology allows for the fastest image reconstruction for surgical navigation, all through the flash of a light. *Pre-operative CT scan required.

PEDICLE SCREW GUIDE (PSG)

The FIREFLY® PSG is the perfect navigational solution for pediatric scoliosis. These patient-specific guides aid surgeons in the precise targeting and placement of screws within the small pedicles and reduce radiation exposure for these young patients. OrthoPediatrics is the exclusive distributor of the FireFly technology in pediatric institutions.  This technology bundle includes a customized pre-surgical plan, patient-specific guides for each instrumented level, and a 3D printed bone model – all to help the surgeon provide safe, accurate, and reproducible outcomes for every patient.

PRE-SURGICAL PLAN

Concierge pre-surgical planning provides predictive implant sizes, entry points, and trajectories based on a surgeon’s technique and is customized per patient by a team of highly trained biomedical designers to then be approved by the surgeon. All of this can be done through the intuitive FireFly mobile app.

3D PRINTED BONE MODEL AND DIGITAL PLAN

A patient-specific, anatomical model and digital plan with expected screw trajectories is supplied for every case. The autoclavable model provides surgeons with an additional tool for patient education, preoperative evaluation, and intraoperative reference and can be exceptionally helpful for patients with a three-dimensional spinal deformity such as scoliosis.

PATIENT SPECIFIC GUIDES

FIREFLY® Pedicle Screw Guides are patient-specific and 3D printed per case, providing custom care for every patient. These guides aid in the placement of traditional pedicle screws and S2AI screws. When compared to free-hand techniques, these navigational guides save precious time within the OR which ultimately reduces cost.[1]
